Fashion Month Favourites: New York & London

If you have been following me on instagram (if not, why not?!) you will have seen that I have been posting my favourite pieces from each fashion show over the last month. Now that fashion month is drawing to a close, I thought what better way than to share my thoughts on my top collections from each city. First up New York & London.

Back to where it all began..

NEW YORK

There was an array of different trends that cropped up for next season, some of which were See Now Buy Now. But there were a few collections that stood out more than others, some of which are in my list of all time favourite brands.

TOM FORD

Tom Ford brought back the power shoulder with soft cuts in the form of blazer jackets and ultra feminine silhouettes in the form of a pink colour palette and rouching. His collections never fail to disappoint, the simplicity of his fabrics choices create powerful collections time after time and this has proven exactly that.

London Fashion Week Favourites

Now that LFW has finished it’s now time to move on to Milan, but before we do I have decided to put all my favourites into a blog post.

I was quite disappointed in LFW this year, I don’t think there was enough excitement surrounding it and therefore the collections that debuted didn’t really stand out. However, there were some gorgeous collections.

JULIEN MACDONALD

What an absolutely gorgeous collection by Julien Macdonald! The detail and intricacy is amazing, each dress has it’s own story to tell. The mixture of silver and black through out the collection brings a glamorous yet mysterious side to it. I want every piece of this collection!

💄 February Favourites💄

My, my, my, how quickly has February gone past, and we are nearly half way through March!! It’s true what they say, the older you get the quicker the years go by. But the only good thing I can say about it is the fact that summer is nearly upon us! Hurray for light evenings and warm weather! I won’t miss you winter, and I’m sure not many of you will either! So I have curated a list of products that I have been loving this month!

Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder – I have been absolutely loving the Laura Mercier Translucent Powder ever since I bought it a couple of weeks back. The powder is really fine and glides on over your skin with such ease that you don’t look like you have slapped with powder. Plus it is a really great powder if you have oily skin as it makes your skin matte and it lasts all day! It’s not cheap at £29.00 but it is definitely worth the hype to invest in.

Fashion Week Favourite’s: London

So London Fashion Week has begun and if you follow me over on twitter (@serena_aashley) you may have seen a couple of collections I’ve been loving, even through NYFW. So I’ve popped them all into a post! Now I would be here all day if I listed every single one I’ve loved, so here are my top ten favourite’s. Oh and I would like to add welcome back to London Fashion Week, McQueen! For my AW16 predictions read below!

Alexander McQueen

Welcome back to London Alexander McQueen, we have missed the presence of one Britain’s greatest labels at London Fashion Week and I now feel fashion week is great once again. Sarah Burton’s debut London collection one was of awe and absolutely mesmerising. With a fitted structure, thanks to the corsets, and the use of detail whether it was the beaded embellishment or the intricate use of lace, this collection was truly whimsical 😍
